County Donegal
County Donegal is a county in the north-west of Ireland, part of the province of Ulster but in the Republic of Ireland. In the Middle Ages it was largely the lordship of Tír Chonaill, ruled by the O'Donnells, whose leaders took part in the Flight of the Earls from Rathmullan in 1607. Its rugged Atlantic coast includes some of the highest sea cliffs in Europe.
