Lough Erne

Lough Erne is a pair of connected lakes on the River Erne in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. Ptolemy's Erdini are usually placed around it. In the later Middle Ages its islands and shores formed the heart of the Maguire lordship of Fermanagh, with monasteries such as Devenish and the castle of Enniskillen.
