County Fermanagh

County Fermanagh is a county in the south-west of Northern Ireland, centred on the lakes of Lough Erne and the town of Enniskillen. It takes its name from the Fir Manach, an early medieval population group, and from the 13th century until the Plantation of Ulster it was ruled by the Maguire lords. It was made an English shire in 1585.
