Cenél Conaill
The Cenél Conaill were a kindred of the northern Uí Néill descended from Conall Gulban, a son of Niall of the Nine Hostages, and based in Tír Chonaill, modern County Donegal. Saint Columba belonged to them. They shared the high kingship with the Cenél nEógain until the 8th century, and their later leading family, the O'Donnells, ruled Tír Chonaill until 1607.
