Conall Gulban

5th century · 5th century

Conall Gulban is the traditional ancestor of the Cenél Conaill, a son of Niall of the Nine Hostages in Irish genealogy. Tír Chonaill, the land of Conall, roughly the later County Donegal, was named after him, and later tradition says he was baptised by Saint Patrick. The O'Donnell kings of Tír Chonaill traced their descent from him.
