Dori
Dori is a town in north-eastern Burkina Faso, capital of the Sahel region. Around 1810 it became the capital of the Fulbe Emirate of Liptako, founded in the wake of Usman dan Fodio's jihad, and it was a market for livestock and trans-Saharan trade. The German explorer Heinrich Barth described the town during his visit in 1853. It came under French rule at the end of the 19th century.
