Dosunmu
Dosunmu, also spelt Docemo, was Oba of Lagos from 1853 to 1885, succeeding his father Akitoye. Under strong pressure from the British consul and a naval squadron, he signed the treaty of 6 August 1861 ceding Lagos to Britain in return for a pension, and Lagos became a British colony.
