Person
Kosoko
Kosoko was Oba of Lagos from 1845 to 1851. He seized the throne from his uncle Akitoye and protected the Atlantic slave trade, which brought Lagos great profit. In December 1851 a British naval attack, the Reduction of Lagos, drove him out and restored Akitoye; Kosoko withdrew to Epe and was later allowed to return to Lagos, where he died in 1872.
