Duoyou ding
The Duoyou ding is a Western Zhou bronze cauldron, found in 1980 near Xi'an, whose inscription of nearly 280 characters records a campaign against the Xianyun in the late ninth century BCE. It describes a series of battles, the numbers of enemies killed and captured and of chariots taken, and the rewards given to the commander Duoyou. It is one of the main sources for Zhou warfare against the Xianyun.
