Dyah Pitaloka was a princess of the Sunda Kingdom, daughter of King Linggabuana. In 1357 she travelled to Majapahit to marry King Hayam Wuruk, but when the chief minister Gajah Mada demanded that she be handed over as a sign of Sunda's submission, the Sundanese party was destroyed in the Battle of Bubat, and she is said to have taken her own life.
