Cirebon
Cirebon is a port city on the north coast of Java, Indonesia, on the border between Javanese and Sundanese lands. It became the seat of a Muslim sultanate in the 15th and 16th centuries under Sunan Gunung Jati, one of the Wali Songo, and was later divided between the courts of Kasepuhan and Kanoman. It came under Mataram and then the Dutch, and its palaces and batik preserve a mixed Javanese, Sundanese, Chinese and Islamic culture.
