Circipanians

Also known as Circipani

The Circipanians (Circipani) were a West Slavic tribe of the Lutician federation, living between the Recknitz and the Peene in modern Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. Their name means 'those beyond the Peene'. Like other Lutici they resisted German and Danish expansion in the 11th and 12th centuries before being absorbed into Christian Pomerania and Mecklenburg.
