Pomerania

Also known as Western Pomerania, Swedish Pomerania

Pomerania is a historical region on the southern Baltic coast, today divided between Germany and Poland. Sweden occupied the Oder estuary in the 1630s and gained Western Pomerania in the Peace of Westphalia in 1648. Swedish Pomerania gave the Swedish Empire a foothold in Germany, though most of it was later lost.
