Sweden

Also known as Swedish

Sweden is a kingdom in northern Europe on the eastern side of the Scandinavian Peninsula. In the seventeenth century it became the core of the Swedish Empire, a Baltic great power whose armies intervened decisively in the Thirty Years' War and fought repeatedly against the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and Russia. Its defeat by Peter the Great's Russia in the Great Northern War ended its imperial era and helped launch the Russian Empire.
