Havelberg

Havelberg is a small town on the Havel near its junction with the Elbe in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Otto I founded a bishopric there around 948 to convert the Slavs, and it was restored after the Wendish Crusade of 1147; its Romanesque cathedral was consecrated in 1170. The see was secularised after the Reformation.
