Edmund Pnischeck

Edmund Pnischeck was mayor of Lorch on the Rhine and head of the improvised administration of the Free State Bottleneck, the strip of land left unoccupied between the Allied bridgeheads at Koblenz and Mainz from 1919 to 1923. Cut off from the rest of Germany, his administration dealt with supply problems and smuggling until French troops occupied the area.
