Édouard Brémond

1868–1948 · 20th century

Édouard Brémond was a French army officer. During the First World War he led the French military mission to the Hejaz, which supported the Arab Revolt, and from 1919 to 1920 he was chief administrator of the French-occupied zone of Cilicia, relying partly on the Armenian Legion. Turkish nationalist resistance forced France to agree to leave the region in 1921.
