Eumenes I
Eumenes I was ruler of Pergamon from 263 to 241 BCE, the nephew and adopted heir of Philetaerus. He defeated the Seleucid king Antiochus I near Sardis around 261 BCE, making Pergamon independent and extending its territory, though he never took the title king. He was succeeded by his cousin Attalus I, the first Attalid to call himself king.
