Fakhr al-Mulk ibn Ammar
Fakhr al-Mulk ibn Ammar was the last ruler of Tripoli in Lebanon from the Banu Ammar family of qadis, governing from 1099. He resisted the Crusader siege begun by Raymond of Saint-Gilles from his castle on Mount Pilgrim. In 1108 he travelled to Baghdad to seek help from the Seljuk sultan, in vain, and in July 1109 Tripoli fell, becoming the capital of the County of Tripoli.
