Foraker Act
The Foraker Act was a United States law of April 1900 that set up civil government in Puerto Rico after the Spanish–American War. It provided for a governor and executive council appointed by the US president and an elected house of delegates, but did not grant Puerto Ricans US citizenship. It was replaced by the Jones Act of 1917.
