Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico is an island in the Caribbean, colonised by Spain from the early sixteenth century. With Cuba and the Philippines, it was among the last remnants of the Spanish Empire after the American independence wars of the early nineteenth century. Spain lost it to the United States in 1898.
