Francesco Novello da Carrara
Francesco Novello da Carrara was the last Carrara lord of Padua. After Gian Galeazzo Visconti took Padua in 1388, he recovered the city in 1390 and ruled it until 1405, when Venice captured Padua after a long war. Taken to Venice as a prisoner, he was strangled in prison in 1406 together with two of his sons, ending the dynasty.
