Goa Velha
Goa Velha, the ancient Gopakapattana, is a village on the Zuari river in Goa, India, that was the capital and main port of the Kadambas of Goa from the 11th century. Its harbour traded with Arabia, East Africa and Gujarat, and Arab merchants settled there. Attacks in the 14th century led to its decline, and the later capital moved to Old Goa.
