Goz Beida
Goz Beida is a town in the Ouaddaï highlands of south-eastern Chad, near the border with Sudan. It became the seat of the sultans of Dar Sila, a small Muslim sultanate that paid tribute to its larger neighbour Wadai. The town remains the traditional residence of the sultan of Dar Sila and in the 2000s was a centre for refugees from the Darfur conflict.
