Hampshire
Hampshire is a county on the south coast of England, including the ports of Southampton and Portsmouth and the New Forest. Its old capital, Winchester, was the chief royal city of the kingdom of Wessex. In the Iron Age the area lay within the territories of the Atrebates and Belgae, and the English colony of New Hampshire was named after it in the 1620s.
