Hartapu

Hartapu was a great king who ruled in south-central Anatolia after the fall of the Hittite Empire, known from Luwian hieroglyphic inscriptions at Kızıldağ, Karadağ and Burunkaya. He called himself son of a great king Mursili, and an inscription found at Türkmen-Karahöyük in 2019 records his victory over Phrygia. His dates are debated: some scholars place him around 1200 BCE, others in the 8th century BCE.
