Huasteca
The Huasteca is a region on the Gulf coast of Mexico, covering parts of Veracruz, San Luis Potosí, Tamaulipas, Hidalgo, Querétaro and Puebla. Named after the Huastec people, its fertile lowlands produced cotton and textiles, and from the 15th century much of it paid tribute to the Aztec Empire. It is also home to Nahua, Otomí and Pame communities.
