Idwal Foel
Idwal Foel, meaning 'the bald', was king of Gwynedd from 916 to 942, a grandson of Rhodri the Great. He submitted to the English kings and attended the court of Æthelstan, witnessing his charters. In 942 he was killed fighting the English, and his cousin Hywel Dda of Deheubarth seized Gwynedd, excluding his sons until Hywel's death in 950.
