Jagadhekamalla II

r. 1138–1151 · 12th century · Also known as Jagadekamalla II

Jagadhekamalla II was king of the Western Chalukya Empire from 1138 to 1151, the son of Someshvara III. In his reign the empire's decline began: the Hoysalas and the Kakatiyas grew more independent, and the Cholas recovered Vengi. He was a patron of literature, and the Kannada grammarian Nagavarma II worked at his court.
