Person
Jinseong of Silla
Jinseong was queen of Silla from 887 to 897, the third woman to rule the kingdom. Her government's attempts to collect taxes from exhausted provinces set off peasant uprisings from 889, and warlords such as Gyeon Hwon and Gung Ye built their own states. She ordered a collection of Korean poems, now lost, and abdicated in 897.
