Kadıköy

Kadıköy is a district of Istanbul on the Asian shore of the Bosporus, facing the historic peninsula. It occupies the site of ancient Chalcedon, founded by Megarian colonists in the 7th century BCE, where the Council of Chalcedon met in 451. Today it is a busy residential, commercial and cultural centre linked to the European side by ferry and rail.
