Kaihuang Code
The Kaihuang Code was the law code of the Sui dynasty, issued by Emperor Wen in 581 and revised in 583, during the Kaihuang era. It reduced the number of capital offences and harsh punishments and arranged the law in twelve sections with five standard punishments. It became the basis of the Tang Code, the model for later Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Vietnamese law.
