Karlstad
Karlstad is a city in Värmland in western Sweden, on the delta of the river Klarälven where it enters Lake Vänern. It received its town charter from Charles IX in 1584 and is named after him. In 1905 negotiations at Karlstad between Norway and Sweden produced the agreements under which Sweden accepted the peaceful dissolution of the union between the two kingdoms.
