Kavyamimamsa

c. 900 CE · 10th century

The Kavyamimamsa is a Sanskrit treatise on poetics written by Rajashekhara at the court of Kannauj around 900 CE. Rather than defining figures of speech, it deals with the poet's training, the sources of inspiration, the conduct of literary life and the geography of India as material for poetry, giving a vivid picture of the literary culture of its time.
