Kedu Plain
The Kedu Plain is a fertile volcanic basin in Central Java, Indonesia, ringed by the volcanoes Merapi, Merbabu, Sumbing and Sindoro. Its rice fields supported the Medang kingdom and the Sailendra dynasty in the eighth and ninth centuries, and it holds major monuments of that age, including Borobudur, Mendut and Pawon.
