Kefe Eyalet

1475–1774 · 15th century · Also known as Eyalet of Kefe

Kefe Eyalet was the Ottoman province on the northern coast of the Black Sea, centred on the port of Kefe (Caffa, now Feodosia) in Crimea. Formed from the Genoese colonies and Theodoro, conquered in 1475, it covered the southern coast of Crimea and later fortresses such as Azov, and was ruled directly by the sultans, separate from the Crimean Khanate. Ottoman rule there ended with the Treaty of Küçük Kaynarca in 1774.
