Khudayar Khan

1829–1886 · 19th century

Khudayar Khan was khan of Kokand, holding the throne three times between 1845 and 1875 amid civil wars between settled and nomadic factions. Having lost Tashkent and much territory to Russia, he became its dependant, and his heavy taxes provoked a revolt in 1875 that drove him into exile. Russian troops then crushed the rebels and annexed the khanate in 1876.
