Kibiro

Kibiro is a village and archaeological site on the eastern shore of Lake Albert in western Uganda, known for salt production from salt-rich soils and hot springs going back at least 700 years. Its salt was traded widely across the Great Lakes region and was an important source of wealth for the kingdom of Bunyoro, which controlled the site.
