Kikaijima
Kikaijima is a small island of the Amami group, east of Amami Ōshima, now in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. It resisted the expansion of the Ryukyu Kingdom until King Shō Toku sent an expedition in 1466 that brought it under Shuri's control. Archaeological finds show that it was an early link between Kyushu and the southern islands.
