Kneiphof
The Kneiphof was an island in the Pregel river in Königsberg, now Kaliningrad, and one of the three medieval towns that formed the city. It held Königsberg Cathedral, begun in the 14th century as the cathedral of the bishops of Samland, and the university. The town was destroyed in 1944–1945; the restored cathedral, with the tomb of Immanuel Kant, now stands in a park on the island.
