Litovoi

13th century · 13th century

Litovoi was a Romanian voivode of the 13th century whose land lay along the Jiu and Olt in what became Oltenia, known from Hungarian royal charters. Béla IV's charter of 1247 to the Knights Hospitaller left his knezate in Romanian hands, and a charter of 1285 says that a voivode Litovoi, perhaps the same man, refused tribute to Ladislaus IV around 1277–1279 and was killed by a royal army.
