Liugong Island
Liugong Island is a small island at the entrance to the harbour of Weihai in Shandong, China. It was the base of the Qing Beiyang Fleet, which was destroyed there by Japan in the Battle of Weihaiwei in 1895. Under the British lease of Weihaiwei from 1898 to 1930 it served as a Royal Navy base and summer anchorage for the China Station.
