Liulihe

Liulihe is an archaeological site in Fangshan District, south-west of Beijing, identified as the early capital of the Western Zhou State of Yan. Excavations since the 1970s have uncovered a walled town and a cemetery whose bronzes record the enfeoffment of the Duke of Shao's family with Yan. It is the earliest known city in the Beijing area.
