Louis de Bourbon (bishop of Liège)

1438–1482 · 15th century

Louis de Bourbon was prince-bishop of Liège from 1456 to 1482, imposed by his uncle Philip the Good of Burgundy. His rule provoked repeated risings, which ended with Charles the Bold's sack of Liège in 1468 and a Burgundian protectorate. He was killed in 1482 by followers of William de la Marck.
