Loukkos
The Loukkos is a river of north-western Morocco that rises in the Rif mountains and reaches the Atlantic at Larache. The Phoenician, Mauretanian and Roman town of Lixus stood on a hill above its estuary, and in 1578 the Battle of Alcácer Quibir, or of the Three Kings, was fought beside it near Ksar el-Kebir.
