Garden of the Hesperides
The Garden of the Hesperides was in Greek myth the garden of the goddess Hera at the western edge of the world, where golden apples were guarded by the nymphs called Hesperides and the dragon Ladon. Fetching the apples was one of the labours of Heracles. Some ancient writers placed the garden near the Greek city of Euesperides, modern Benghazi in Libya.
