Larache
Larache is a port city on the Atlantic coast of northern Morocco at the mouth of the Loukkos river, near the ruins of ancient Lixus. A Saadi port, it was handed to Spain in 1610, recaptured by the Alaouite sultan Moulay Ismail in 1689, and was again under Spanish rule as part of the Spanish protectorate in Morocco from 1911 to 1956.
