Marrakesh
Marrakesh is a city in Morocco founded by the Almoravids around 1070 as the capital of the Almoravid Empire. The Almohads captured it in 1147 and made it the capital of the Almohad Caliphate, adorning it with monuments such as the Koutoubia Mosque. Its fall to the Marinids in 1269 ended Almohad rule.
