Lucala River
The Lucala River is a river of northern Angola and the largest tributary of the Kwanza, which it joins near Massangano. The lands between the Lucala and the Kwanza formed the heartland of the Mbundu kingdom of Ndongo, and the Portuguese built forts along its course during their wars of conquest in the 16th and 17th centuries. The Kalandula Falls lie on the river.
