Lugalbanda

Lugalbanda was a legendary king of Uruk named in the Sumerian King List, said to be the father of Gilgamesh and the husband of the goddess Ninsun. Two Sumerian epic poems tell of his adventures in the mountains while campaigning with Enmerkar against Aratta, including his encounter with the Anzu bird. He was later worshipped as a god at Uruk.
